On 9/09/2008 Mobile TeleSystems and Atos Origin received the award in the International Mobile Service Innovation category for a joint project for Worldline global recharge service (GRS). Atos Origin partnered with Eyeline Communications to enable MTS customers to recharge their balance when traveling abroad through cross-border airtime transfers.
GRS can support both own top-up and third-party airtime recharge by a variety of payment means, including payments by using widespread prepaid vouchers from third-parties. The list of participants in the project included such companies as Play (Poland), Vodafone (Egypt), Maxis (Malaysia), DTAC (Thailand) and StarHub (Singapore), says MTS press-release. The geography of the project will be constantly expanding as more operators from different countries join the list.
‘This award won by our partners is an acknowledgement of Eyelene’s reputation as leading provider of signaling solutions for mobile operators’, – Vitaly Gumirov, Eyeline CEO, commented. – It is testimony to our commitment to technology innovations and capability to provide world-class services to our customers’.
